Chicken in a Pot for Crock Pot Meals

Save time and your sanity for the Monday night football season. Get yourself a great new crock pot and we'll have a wonderful, delectable recipe each week for quick and easy crock pot meals. Check back each week for a new recipe.


Put the following in the bottom of your crock pot:

1-2 carrots, 1-2 onions, 1-2 celery stalks   (all sliced)

Add a 2-3 pound whole broiler/fryer chicken

1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground pepper

½ cup water, chicken broth or white wine

1 teaspoon basil

Cover and cook on high for 1 hour if possible and then on low for 8-10 hours
